Social/Recreation Programs 

Participation in recreational activities is an important aspect of life in our society. When recreational activities meet the needs of an individual, they promote physical health and conditioning, provide opportunities to develop friendships, and lead to the development of new skills. ​

 

Adventure Club

This group meets 2 or 3 Saturdays per month and participates in activities around the city including theaters/plays, community events, museums, movies, lunch/dinner out, and other recreational activities. Participants must be 15 years or older. Costs are varied per activity. Adventure Club is currently full.

Monthly Dance

 

Come dance the night away every 1st Saturday of the month from 6:30-9:00pm at the Metropolitan Multi-Services Center (1475 W. Gray Street). Participants must be 15 years or older. Cost is $5.

Holiday Gala (Candy Cane Ball)

 

Held annually for our members, our gala hosts over 1,000 individuals and their families. Participants must 15 years or older. 2019 Candy Cane Ball is Friday, December 6, 2019 and will be at the Bayou Event Center. More details will be posted in October.

 

Overnight Summer Vacation 


Supervised vacation that include destinations such as Las Vegas, Puerto Vallarta, cruises to the Bahamas , as well as in-state trips. Participants must be 21 years and older. Costs are dependent on vacation location. This year we are going to Marble Falls, TX June 9-13.  We are full for this summer, but become an Arc member to get first chance at future vacations!
 

 

Camp Champions 


Camp Champions is a six-day overnight camp for individuals ages 10 and up. Camp Champions serves over 250 campers, staff and volunteers.  The camp is located in Burton, TX at the Camp for All site and activities include horseback riding, canoeing, fishing, paintball, archery, swimming, ropes course, arts/crafts.

Fall Camp Out

Fall Camp Out is a three-day residential camp for individuals ages 10 and up. The camp is located in Burton, TX at the beautiful Camp for All site; activities include horseback riding, canoeing, fishing, paintball, archery, swimming (weather permitting), ropes course, arts/crafts, and many more fun & exciting activities.

     Fall Camp Out 2019 is $365 and is set for October 25-27, 2019. Registration opens on Monday, August 26th, 2019 at 8:00 AM!
