Disability Education and Training Services

The Arc of Greater Houston offers conferences, trainings, and support for families, professionals, and the community on best practices in education, transition, adult services, and organizational change.  Many trainings are offered in both English and Spanish, and can be customized based on need and audience.

Special Education 101

is a helpful overview of federal and state law governing public school, special education services. Child and parent rights are discussed along with referral processes, evaluation procedures and practical tips for securing an appropriate education in the least restrictive environment.
